About the Diploma

The DipNDEA L3 course is structured to include both classroom-tuition and distance learning elements. During the initial 4-day classroom training period you will be given a comprehensive introduction to the different building aspects involved within the practice of non domestic energy assessment and will receive guidance on how to correctly input data into the relevant software programme.

Diploma Structure

The DipNDEA L3 course is run over a period of four consecutive days (9:00 am - 17:00 pm) and incorporates a selection of practical and written activities, including slide show presentations and sample (virtual) properties that candidates can practise zoning and inputting data etc. This makes the course as hands on as possible.

The content covered includes:

Following this training period, the distance-learning elements of the training are incorporated within two forms of assessment. These require you to:

  • Pass an exam based on the L3 NDEA course syllabus. The exam consists of multiple choice questions and requires a score of 70% to pass.
  • Submit a portfolio of three Energy Performance Certificates on a range of existing commercial properties (EPCs).

Candidates will be required to produce each one of these EPCs up to current industry standard.

In order to assist you in the revision for your exam and completion of your portfolio, you will be allocated an assessor who will provide you with guided learning advice and assistance on all the technical issues you will come across during the completion of your diploma.
