Air Conditioning Energy Assessor Accreditation
In order to meet the requirements of the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EEPBD), the Government has recently introduced a new piece of legislation regarding air-conditioning systems. Due to the fact that these systems are notoriously high users of power, this legislation demands that by January 2011, all units over 12kw must be inspected by professional air-conditioning energy assessors (ACSEA). These ACSEAs will check that the units are operating safely and will provide the owners and users of the systems with advice on how to use the systems more efficiently, in an attempt to reduce the level of CO2 emitted.
For more information on air-conditioning reports, including who is responsible and who needs one, please download a copy of the CLG guidelines here.

As with all other types of energy assessors, all ACSEAs must be accredited with a government-approved accreditation scheme. The Quidos Air-Conditioning Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme was one of the first of these schemes to be appointed in the UK, and is at the forefront of all new guidelines and legislation regarding this area of the energy industry.
Due to the new Quidos Level 3 Air-Conditioning Energy Assessor training course, we are able to offer two routes to accreditation, just as for other types of energy assessors. These two routes are:
1. The Qualification Route
2. The APEL route
For more general information on each of these routes, please visit the 'How do I become accredited?' page. For more information about the Quidos Level 3 Air-Conditioning Energy Assessor training course, please click here.
