By April 1st 2012, all DEAs will have had to obtain an additional DEA top-up qualification in order to continue practicing as an accredited assessor. By now all assessors will have received full information relating to this requirements, however if not, then please see Quidos’ overview of the qualification and its implementation here.
The DEA top-up training day will be predominantly focusing upon the upcoming changes to the RsDAP conventions and methodology, and how these changes will affect domestic energy assessors in practice. Please see the full list of convention including the upcoming updates here. Topics on the training day will include:
• How to measure and record wall thicknesses
• Accurately recording the level of draught proofing present
• How to identify the presence of dry lining
• Recording the insulation levels accurately
• How auditing procedures will change in line with the changes
The training will be running from 10:00 until 16:00 on each of the days, and will put assessors in a good position to be fully familiar with how to complete assessments in line with the new changes. The training will spend a small amount of time looking at the background to the changes and why they have been implemented, but will for the most part be examining what impact the new requirements will have on assessors in the actual completion of EPCs.
With over 30 courses running in the next few months, we are trying to ensure the steps to upgrading your skill set as a Domestic Energy Assessor are easy, however places are limited to please choose a date on the right and click to book your place.
