Who should attend?

It is aimed at anyone wishing to gain theory and practical training in the installation of domestic loft and ‘room in roof’ insulation, including under ECO and the Green Deal.

Background to the course

With an average payback time of 2 years, it makes loft insulation a first choice for saving money on heating bills and together with Government incentives means that the work is affordable.  On successful completion of the course a City & Guilds Accredited certificate is issue. This certificate is recognised by PAS2030 / Green Deal Installer Accreditation bodies as proof of competence for Domestic Loft Insulation under PAS2030.

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) (Launched in Spring 2014) requires ALL properties to have the correct level of loft insulation in order to qualify for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments. Click here for details about the Domestic RHI.

Installing under ECO (PAS2030) or the Green Deal for Boilers?

Successful completion of this lofted ‘room in roof’ insulation course will, where approved by accreditation bodies, allow the installation of Domestic Loft Installation in conjunction with a boiler replacement, and enable the release of ECO funding for an insulation measure. This can provide a useful source of additional income (£200 – £450) for the boiler installer while in the customers house.
