The green deal home improvement fund is back!
The new green deal home improvement fund is back opens this Wednesday at 9am, we’ve summarised the key information about the fund below to bring you a quick, informative update below.

Green deal home improvement fund – installer key facts
£30 million in vouchers will be available from Wednesday, 10th December at 9am. Further releases of the GDHIF will be announced quarterly with the next release in February 2015. The £30 million will be split into two categories (once the funding under each category has been committed, no more applications will be taken for that category):
- Up to £24 million for solid wall insulation
- Up to £6 million for two measures from a list of home improvements available under the scheme
What’s available?
Domestic energy customers could receive:
® up to £4000 for installing solid wall insulation (up to 67% of the installation cost)
® up to £1000 for installing two measures from the approved list
® up to £100 refunded for their Green Deal Assessment (only if measures are installed)
® up to £500 more if applying within 12 months of buying a new home (only if measures are installed)
What do householders need?
- A Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) or Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that is less than two years old
- A quote from a GDHIF registered installer or provider for work specified on the GDAR or EPC and included on the list of GDHIF approved measures
- Proof of property ownership (for landlords/undertakings only)
Households can’t apply if they are already getting money back for the same improvements under other schemes (such as ECO, Green Deal Communities, Green Deal Cashback or the first release of GDHIF). Households must make an application and have received a voucher before any installation work commences. The vouchers will be valid for 6 months and are paid within 20 working days following receipt of submission.

Operating under the scheme
In order to operate under the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund you must be a registered Green Deal Installer (certified against and complying with the requirements of PAS 2030 for the measures you are installing). If you intend to install gas boilers and heating systems under the scheme (this also applies to any sub-contractors you use) you must be registered on the Gas Safe Register.
You must also agree to the Terms and Conditions of the scheme by completing the form available online and returning to the GDHIF Administrator (enquiries@energy-saving-home-improvement-fund.service.gov.uk or by post at The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund, PO Box 6900, Basingstoke, RG24 4SY).
You must notify your certification body of installations completed under the scheme within 7 days of the work being completed, and complete a Benchmark form or manufacturer’s warranty with the customer at the time of installation (if one is available).

Take part in the CEW survey for your chance to win a £50 voucher!
The Wales Low Zero Carbon Hub is seeking views from the housing industry in Wales. The e-survey is seeking the views of designers, estate managers, tenant engagement officers and other professionals on the challenging issue of overheating in homes. Your response will help the Zero Carbon Hub to identify where there may be common issues with current processes and practices so that they may be improved. The survey is part of a wider project which will ultimately lead to a report to government and industry in 2015 recommending the shape of future policy on overheating.
