Understanding Accreditation

All EPCs will be produced by accredited (licensed) Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) or Home Inspectors. Quidos has been approved to run an accreditation scheme as of the 18th of June 2007. For further details of what an Accreditation Scheme Operator must comply with, please visit the CLG website here.

Our obligation, as a scheme operator, is to verify every member is "fit and proper" to carry out Energy Performance Certificates. This involves a thorough investigation of an applicants credentials; along with continual Quality Assurance monitoring throughout the membership.

Effectively we act as a filter between the Energy Assessor and the Government Central Database www.hcrregister.com; in that we provide the verification to enable only valid data is lodged in the register.
