Quidos Q-Mark Floor Plan Training

As a DEA or HI you will be providing EPC's. As such you will have to provide a "map" of the property to calculate the area and volume. We can teach you how to create an accurate floorplan, with a very precise gross internal area measurement.

The major advantage is that this floorplan can be sold in addition to the EPC you create; to the estate agent/HIP provider etc. Floorplans are popular with estate agents and are often a necessary item on property particulars. Quidos approved floorplans are popular due to their true reflection of the property layout.

Estate agents are particularly interested in the facility of reducing the property "invasion" to one visit rather than two.

At Quidos we have been supplying floorplans to estate agents for the past 3 years, and hence we have the experience to train you these skills.

How does a Quidos floorplan differ from others?

Quidos floor plans are drawn within very specific parameters, to enable a true reflection of the area being mapped. Some of the Parameters include:


• Accurate GIA (Gross Internal Area) - useful for EPC's.
• Maximum 2% margin of error (e.g. 20ft2 per 1,000ft2).
• Any 3 inch deviancy from a straight wall has to be measured.
• All habitable parts of a property have to be marked.
• All fixed features (baths, cookers, etc) have to be indicated.

How much will it cost, and what does it include?

The fee for the course is £275.00 inc. VAT

This includes:

• All training at our offices in Bath, including lunch and refreshments.
• All training materials provided.
• Compass, Angle measure, Clipboard, Graph paper etc...
• 3 Trial floorplan sketches drawn in CAD
Not included:
• Travel or accommodation - although our facilities are very close to Bath Spa train station, and there are a large numbers of hotels and guesthouses in the city.
• Laser tape measure

Leica A2 Disto Laser measures can be purchased as part of the course for an additional £140.

What does the training involve?

A 2 day training course will be a mixture of classroom and on site training. Following the course you will be able to sketch a floorplan to Q-mark standards.

You will then need to have it converted into CAD - a service Quidos can offer if required.

How long does a floorplan take to sketch?

After practice you will be able to draw a typical 2,000ft2 property in just over an hour.

What can I earn from selling floorplans?

At Quidos we sell estate agents our floorplans for £80 (up to 2,000 ft2) then an additional fee of 4p per ft2, you would be able to sell them for whatever you felt was appropriate, and this is purely intended as a guide.

What does it cost to process a floorplans?

To convert a floorplan sketch to a CAD file:

£20 (Inc. VAT) per property up to 2000 ft2, thereafter charged at 1.5p per ft2

Floorplans sent to Quidos will be drawn and returned for proofing the following business day.

What about amendments and delivery to the client?

This is included in the fee and involves liaising with you or the client and making minor changes such as room names, missing doors etc. We would then create a PDF file and email you the competed document.
