RdSAP 9.82 Launch Imminent...
With the new RdSAP rulings coming into effect from September 7th, now is the time to acquaint yourself with the changes being implemented and ensure your are equipped to deal with the revised software.
These changes have been made to reflect the views and opinions of industry experts since EPC's were launched last year and are designed to give assessors greater ability to record what fabrics and systems are in place that a more accurate EPC may be produced.
A few of these changes include:
- Floor Types - The ability to note whether a floor is suspended or solid
- Glazing - A new Triple Glazing option is being implemented
- Wind Turbines - Small scale wind turbines are now a selectable option
- Flat Roof Insulation - You will now be able to record flat roof insulation details where the occupier can supply evidence it exists

Quidos DEC Data Collector Training & Accreditation
CLG has recently made a provision for Energy Assessors to use " a team of people to gather the information for an energy assessment, as long as they are working under the direction of an Accredited Energy Assessor.
Accredited Energy Assessor's must ensure that anyone visiting a property or gathering information on their behalf is both ‘fit and proper' and suitably qualified to gather the information. They must, be satisfied that any data about a building has been properly collected and accurately reflects the building as they will be responsible for any data used to produce a DEC
To take the hassle out of this Quidos has set up the Data Collectors Accreditation Scheme, simply put, every Quidos Accredited Data collector has been tested, trained and verified to best gather information, they will also have a sound understanding of the DEC methodology:
Who is it for?
The Data Collectors Accreditation Scheme is aimed at property professionals wanting to be involved in the production of the DECs:
Examples of these property professionals are:
- The facilities manger of a public building wanting to ensure the highest quality of the DEC.
- Domestic Energy Assessors wanting to get involved in the commercial sector
- Anyone who has a buildings back ground and is interested in working in the field Energy Efficiency and the production of DECs.

In order to qualify for accreditation as a Public Building Data Collector you need to satisfy the following criteria:
- Study and Understand the requirements of the DEC Data collectors role
- Submit all evidence for 1 DEC
- Have a sound knowledge of Quidos I.T. systems
